Today on Buzzfeed I came across an article about Christopher Sean, an actor on the daytime drama series Days of Our Lives, who is changing the way viewers see Asian Men.
The article touches on points concerning Asian men always being portrayed as the side-kick, supporting character, and non-influential subject on television. Sean’s character is a breakthrough as he is a closeted Asian baseball player, and his prominence on the show is a first.
The show is allowing, finally, for more diversity in drama series and is showing that the over exaggerated problems people have don’t discriminate based on race.
