Morgan’s Cool Trick

Mel Marcelo is a graphic designer/illustrator based out of San Diego!

He does alot of work of celebrities as well as work of his friends and things he finds interesting!

He is inspired by Japanese wood cut prints and his work is mainly photo driven and focuses on portraiture and the human body.

What I think is most cool about Mel’s work is his tight use of line mixed with vibrant colors. He is capable of adding so much detail through his use of shapes of colors. I think the artist definitely uses the pen and pencil tool to create the shapes of colors seen throughout his work. He varies between use of realistic and surreal color palettes which I really enjoy.
