The Levels Adjustment Tool

It is one way to work specifically on the output of light and color levels in your photo.

Before going into how to use the levels tool, we want to learn how it works! The levels adjustment tool uses a histogram, more information about the histogram and it’s  functions can be found here!

A great basic overview of how to adjust the black, white, and midtone levels can be found here. This article focuses mainly on how to control the light output with the tool.

This article, found here, gives great directions on how to check the levels of a photo that looks dull and flat, and how to lighten lights and darken darks to fix it.
