MASAHIKO SAGA

He was working as a DTP operator and was impressed by a well-known Japanese painter: Itoh Jakuchu and started to draw phoenixes and dragons on illustrator. The painter Jakuchu is also known for his Ukiyo-e which is also his style.

I love his art works because he uses vivid colored prints and his impeccably specific line work with “sweeping movements” and his blurs make each of his illustrations aesthetically pleasing to look at.

For his ‘blurs’ this illustration tutorial page will tell you all about it!

This tutorial talks about being very detailed like Saga is in his artworks:

–> the Direct Selection Tool helps with creating 3D effects and how to build the shape of the goldfish and the scales were made with the Transform Tool by duplicating each oval made by the gradation tool and multiplied  by dozens to make the scale affect.

This one also talks about how to apply texture to your illustrations. Like you can see, he has very very specific and amazing details in each wing/tail of the animals he draws.
