Bootcamp 5 : Hue/Saturation and brightness/contrast

Hue and Saturation

  • Color correction and controlling the hues
  • Saturation = intensity, purity or amount of hue
  • Hue = single color
  • Adjusting specific colors

o   Ex: choose “red” if it is too saturated and desaturate only reds

Brightness/ Contrast

To use the Adjustment Panel to change the Brightness/ Contrast of a Picture

Step 1: Open the Picture in Photoshop.

Step 2: Make a Layer Mask or duplicate the Layer.

Step 2: Go to the Image selection drop-down box.

Step 3: Hit the Adjustment menu under the Image selection.

Step 4: Hit the Brightness/ Contrast option.

Step 5: A box will pop-up with two sliders; one for brightness and one for contrast.

Step 6: Hit Save-As to save the picture as a new version.
